Chris Pine to Announce he is ‘Green Lantern’ at SDCC?
It looks as though a major announcement regarding actor Chris Pine and the DC Cinematic Universe, will be happening at SDCC. Now, will he announce that he is going to be playing Green Lantern? Or is he going to be playing Wonder Woman’s love interest, Steve Trevor? According to the latest rumors he has been offered both roles. The trades recently reported that Chris Pine is in talks to join the cast of Wonder Woman as Steve Trevor. Since then however, a new report surfaced claiming that he’s actually up for the role of Green Lantern, with Warner Bros. plotting to introduce him during their Hall H panel this weekend.
Well, Birth.Movies.Death have now weighed in on the news, and reveal that Pine is indeed up for the role of Hal Jordan. He has however also been offered the chance to play Steve Trevor, but still hasn’t signed on officially to anything just yet, despite the studio wanting to introduce him at Comic-Con. Has the actor been offered a choice of who to play or are two different movies set in the DC Cinematic Universe fighting for his attention? Surely they’re more organised than that?
Well, the site adds that, “Pine is definitely leaning towards Green Lantern,” so it will be interesting to see how this develops at Comic-Con. We all expected Doctor Strange to be announced last year and it didn’t happen, so it might be best to temper expectations for now. Sound off below!
